♫♪ episode #001 | Edinburgh-esque

Monday:March 26:2010

Edinburgh is not known for having an affluent or thriving music scene, there are two reasons for this. Simply, it's a tourist city. Although nearly doubling during Festival in August where it becomes the arts mecca of Scotland, the rest of the œyear it sits in the shadow of its brother to the west, Glasgow.

Edinburgh sits 50min away, an easy £5 coach or £10 train (if you're feeling rich) from Glasgow, and Glasgow, is where the music is at.

Apart from some of the bands I've come across, this episode talks about some of Edinburghs venues like Sneaky Pete's, The Ark & The Jazz Bar, alternatives to ticket master (Ripping Records) and sweet record shops.

The 0h0 podcast? What are you?

032010:15:22

The 0h0 podcast is my attempt at introducing you to the music and niche uniqueness that my travels have me come across.

The bands you will hear and links you will find will be unique to my current locale (most of the time). Therefor, if I'm in Berlin, you'll be subjected to Berlin bands.. at most, a suburb or two away from its center of gravity. [exceptions will occur]

Apart from bands, I'd like to introduce you to local gems, alternatives and oddities.

In this way I hope to expose a more realistic approach to bands abroad. Enjoy.
