Came across a fantastic band from Glasgow yesterday, The John Knox Sex Club. A Scottish Morrison throwing archaic evangelical prose, whilst the backing of a repetitiously droning new york dirt ensemble brings back the noise we so eagerly anticipated in the darkness that was the post-emo movement, yes I'm referring to ambient pop. Thick and dirty, perfect in my eyes.
Edinburgh!

I have indeed arrived in Edinburgh and am in the midst of finding work and checking out the scene here. Today found an somewhat impromptu meeting of folk artists in a garden party not far from my place and got to meet some of Edinburgh's talent.
This encounter got me inspired to release tracks from the Monseigneur! ep, Schiele in the attic, Apple and Kidney Stones. I'll be finishing up the last two songs I had lined up for it as well. So I did just that as they are now available on the audio page and myspace. enjoy.

As some of you know I'm moving to Edinburgh, Scotland at the end of July. We've been packing up the house for the past 2 months and are finally at weeks end, which is a relief. We leave Canada on July 28th, land in London on the 29th at 7:20am and head north to Edinburgh via train for its 1:00pm call.
We decided on Edinburgh for two reasons. 1. London is entirely too fucking dear. Musically, historically & congestive-ly it would have a blast but the rents for rooms the size of public washrooms isn't an option we need to address just yet. 2. Edinburgh's history is wonderfully old, Glasgow is an hour away, Ireland is a stones throw and the rents were decent enough to begin our journey with.
We'll be building mini-foundations 6 months at a time, moving to another city and building again, the idea being that we become a part of the city, if even for a brief period of time.
So with that, OHO will continue while we are galavanting. I have a mini-studio setup in a suitcase that will allow me to play live and continue to record. I'm hoping to play as many show as possible and meet some like minded-musicians along the way. Possibly get a full band under OHO's flag and tour Europe for a bit, add a little owls to that straight up martini I've been listening to.
See you there.

Hello Twitter! If you enjoyed the new track, download the last ep here. The new ep should come soon. Tell everyone, I'm too poor to fail!
We're back on track

News is three-fold today.
1. Finally back on track. Damn that was a big detour this time around, usually the segue's don't last as long but without a schedule I
fall out of routine it seems.
I began the 4th track to the 2nd ep, tentatively titled 'Insert Here', it's more inline with the removal of the ego than the other
three tracks, at least to me they are. Characteristically speaking, 'Insert Here' feels more natural. I'll get the other back in line.
2. We may have snagged us an artist willing to create a catalogue of cover art with us. I won't say more than that until it's confirmed
but I'm excited about the prospect.
3. We got reviewed in April's issue of Beatroute. I've placed the article in the Reviews section.

Sorry everyone, I haven't delivered May's ep yet. I've found myself completely removed and disenchanted from music as of late.
I had my wisdom teeth pulled and have since continued the hermit lifestyle. Truly just looking forward to leaving Calgary and getting
to the U.K. I'll get my bearings together soon, in the meantime I'll let you in on track titles:
1. Question
2. The Value of 8 < 4
3. Founders

I've decided to undertake an endeavor that will either have me hating music or creating even more frenetic audio. That of recording one ep per month for the next two years while traveling.
I'll have my little road studio with me in Europe, It'll be enough to record at the quality I wrote AVCOC with. Nonetheless, it should be interesting.
Here's to not faltering.

Well here we are, OHO is in existence in more ways than one. Its nice to have it off the ground, with an ep, press and a presence.
This will of course be the main archive for OHO's music, I will be maintaining it and placing a friendly flash player for the site, something that won't hog bandwidth.
All in all, I will continue to build the site. Hope you enjoy it.

Finally got to sit down and just work music today after 3 days of sneaking to the cpu in between coats of paint and drywall sanding. 'Minutiae' is the name of the track I wrote in a sitting of 6 hours or so, it just kept coming so I let it go. Couldn't finish 'Conjugate..' so I wrtoe this out to help stir concept and it did just that. I have it posted but I don't believe it's done. I can feel a bridge stirring and at least another minute or so.
Same with 'Conjugate..' I've been working on it for awhile now and I think I'm seeing the pattern.
Hope you enjoy 'Minutiae' for what it currently is and of course, my Elvis impression at the beginning of the track.
